Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using bearbear (operated by Origin 22 LLC), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use bearbear. If you are between 13 and 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you must have parental or guardian consent to use the service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements.

If we have reason to believe you are under 13, we will terminate your account and delete your data.

3. Your Account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate information during registration (including date of birth).
  • You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts to evade enforcement.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Post, share, or distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — this will result in immediate permanent ban and report to NCMEC
  • Harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate other users
  • Engage in hate speech, incitement to violence, or terrorism
  • Distribute malware, spam, or phishing content
  • Impersonate other users or organizations
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
  • Use the platform for illegal activities
  • Circumvent or interfere with security features
  • Violate the intellectual property rights of others
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without authorization

5. Content

You retain ownership of content you post on bearbear. By posting content in public or community spaces, you grant bearbear a non-exclusive license to display that content as part of the service.

Community/server owners are responsible for moderating content within their communities. bearbear provides moderation tools but does not pre-screen all user content.

6. Encryption & Law Enforcement

bearbear uses end-to-end encryption for direct messages and calls. We cannot access encrypted content. For non-E2E content (public community posts), we will comply with valid legal process (subpoenas, court orders, warrants) from appropriate jurisdictions.

7. Premium & Paid Services

  • bearbear Premium is billed monthly or annually via Stripe.
  • You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis within 7 days of purchase.
  • Paid community subscriptions are between you and the community operator; bearbear facilitates payment processing only.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. In cases of severe violations (CSAM, terrorism, credible threats of violence), termination is immediate without prior notice. For lesser violations, we will typically provide a warning first.

You may delete your account at any time through Settings. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

bearbear is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure against all threats (though we work very hard to make it so).

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Origin 22 LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of bearbear. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Clark County, Nevada, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations or security threats. Class action waivers apply.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
